NIGHT SIXTY ONE - ARE JAD AND ED IN LOVE?

Watching Tahan wax Ed's chest brought tears to my eyes, it would have been impossible to laugh after that, especially as Tahan wasn't ripping it off properly!! Ed has never had his chest waxed before either!

I can see Ed has been trying to confront Tim a bit more. Like Nick, I can't stand the way Tim talks about Ed and calls him "gutless" as it's completely not true. It's not in Ed's nature to step on people's toes and cause unwanted and awkward confrontation like Tim does.

I am going up for the eviction show this week so it will be interesting to meet all the families and see what they have to say!!!

Please vote this week to keep Ed safe. We have seen favourite housemates like Caleb, Matt and Heidi leave because people thought they would be safe and didn't vote. Don't let this happen to Ed!!!

NIGHT TWENTY THREE - NOMINATIONS

Tim... Really?

Ben... Really? Over coffee...

The two of you are definitely off the Christmas card list. We're obviously stoked Ed dodged nominations but I can't help but feel for Ed. I know he has some critics who are suggesting he's 'playing the game' or he's 'boring', what makes it so frustrating is that he is neither. Ask anyone close to Ed, or anyone who has worked with him, in everyday life he acts exactly the same way. He opens doors for strangers, he asks questions like 'what can I do to help?', he likes to make people feel comfortable and he doesn't generally like to argue (not to say that he never does).

Watching nominations and the show, I've been surprised by how I react to negative talk regarding Ed. Obviously I am protective of my brother, but its more the ignorance of people who suggest that he's something he's not in there that has really got to me. Why would people nominate him for being too nice? It baffles me.

I do agree that Ed maybe floating through these early stages, but I can assure you its not a tactic, he's warming to the new environment. I dont think its wrong of me to point out, but Ed would hold onto the knowledge of knowing he's being filmed 24 hours a day longer than some of the other HMs. As time passes I know we will see sides of Ed the public may not have known he possess'. I can already see that things are getting to him and trust me, when, not if, WHEN Ed gets into an argument he does not back down and it will make for fantastic viewing!

NIGHT SIXTEEN - NOMINATION NIGHT...ED'S POWER

Dear Ed,

What the hell are you doing? Watching you tonight was one of the most awkward and cringe worthy nights of television I have ever endured. Have you forgotten there are hundreds of cameras in the house? Seriously... that was embarrassing. I know how awkward the situation must have been for you after you realised that the kiss had been caught on camera. Knowing you I know exactly what you were trying to do by coming clean to Jade, but wow dude, you need to work on your delivery of awkward conversations! We'll work on it when you get out.

Not to worry, I just hope you don't let that get to you. You seemed a little down at nominations- I know you would have replayed that scenario in your head thousands of times already, but seriously, forget about it. All of Australia would have by the end of the week!

In other news good choices for nominations! Quite a bonus to listen in on some of your HM's nominations- if I were you I'd remember what Tim said about 'meat heads'. I think that was aimed at you!

Chin up little brother, tomorrows another day! All of Australia would know she was coming on strong....

NIGHT TWELVE - B'DAY TIME!

Dear Ed,

How are things in the house? Which are you enjoying more... being woken every morning by lights being turned on or waking up next to Ben?

Tonight was a short episode but had the most potential for entertainment. As you would know tonight was Jade's 23rd birthday. I'm sure you were looking forward to a huge night of partying (which I know all the viewers of the show were too), but unfortunately instead of the wild night of drinking, which you all would be craving, we watched you all be invited to a Princess themed party... for a 23 year old! I bet it was a hoot..!

I haven't spoken to Mum or Milly yet, but I bet they're stoked you hooked up on national T.V, especially Milly. Well even if they're not, Dad and I am. Well done bro! About time.

Although we watched you party (hardly) on TV tonight, I think as I write this you are in the middle of the Saturday night games- which you film on a Friday night. Good Luck, we all hope you take it out! If you do and you win the super powers for nomination, stick with your same votes from last week. Tim and Mikkayla will get double points... you'll want that to happen, they weren't overly nice to you the other night!

INSIDE LOCKDOWN

Hey! My name is Nick Rees, I spent the week with Ed in lockdown on the Gold Coast. Lockdown was a strange experience, when we arrived from the airport they took us to the Hilton where we spent the week. They immediately took our mobiles and gave us a rundown, telling us that we weren't allowed to leave the room unless our chaperone 'Luke' (legend) was with us. We weren't allowed to watch T.V but we were allowed to bring in a hard drive so we loaded one up with heaps of movies and T.V series. We smashed lots of Game of Thrones, Sons Of Anarchy, Suits and How to Make It In America. Aside from the movies, Ed and I did kickboxing twice a day and found anything we could to do a workout with in the room. We wrote a shopping list every two days for the BB team to get us and cooked up healthy meals (our list was apparently about 10X bigger than any other housemates). Ed also cleaned flat out as usual!

Aside from being locked in the room, Ed was asked to do a couple of photo shoots for channel 9 and various other magazines throughout the days - a nice break from the T.V series. It seemed as though Ed wasn't exactly the natural male model - he was totally embarrassed at all the different poses they asked him to do, but in the end he got through.

During the 'down time' we talked about everything imaginable BB, particularly the twist - Ed thought there would be two houses!

Despite the relatively uneventful week in lock down, he was in good spirits when I left him. But at the last minute, it had just started to dawn on him he was about to go into the house. Like true men, we hugged it out and went our separate ways.

All in all, I think he is doing really well in the house and the way he is being portrayed is awesome.  The housemates and public still have more of his funny side to see and I am excited to see if anything happens with Jade? I'm sure you are all enjoying watching him as much as I am!

NIGHT NINE - NOMINATION NIGHT

Nomination night is here! Lucky for Ed, he got through tonight unscathed, no thanks to Tahan's 'tactical vote'!

Interesting fact: 5 out of the 6 nominees are former Safe Housemates.

Tonight's show certainly exposed Tully's 'psychopathic' side. If she's finding things hard on day 9, imagine day 10...? Maybe the stress of the looming nominations was enough to send her mad. Being a social media expert, I'm sure she'll know deep down that social media would be going into melt down over her melt down tonight!

So in case you all missed it or switched off during Ed's heart felt explanation of his reasons behind his nominations, Ed voted Mikkayla (3) and Tim (2) to be evicted, with a lot of umm and ahh'ing in the middle! Would you have voted differently if you were Ed?

The week ahead will see Ed in the Safehouse with Tahan (which will make for an interesting week of made up love stories) Matt, Caleb, Ben (maybe more made up love stories?), Xavier, Heidi, Tully and the new late comers Lucy, Katie and Rohan. In our households opinion... he's done pretty well! Stoked he's safe for another week.

NIGHT FOUR - ED'S NOT PERFECT... BUT HE'S CLOSE

With all three of us having lived with Ed for over two years and in Nick's case, his whole life, we can well and truly say Ed is NOT perfect... but he's close! Like most, he has flaws. Although he struggled to pin-point any in tonight's episode, we thought we would name the few we could think of:

1. He's indecisive. It takes him forever to choose where to go out for breakfast, what clothes to wear, what direction to go when driving and you don't even want to know how long it takes him to decide on what coloured shoe laces to wear!
2. He is also known for his little 'white lies'. For example, if he's supposed to catch up with someone for a drink and he can't be bothered he would probably conjure up some ridiculous excuse like "Sorry, I'd love to, more than anything, but I'm on the way to hospital. I had to take my neighbour Rob there because he got shot by an intruder. The doctors have asked me to help out with the emergency surgery. Hopefully it doesn't take too long! If I get out of surgery early I'll see if I can get there..." Any normal person would usually just tell the truth and say that they can't be bothered.
3. Uses way to many #hashtags on Instagram.
4. He can't do one handed push ups... well maybe one
5. Get's 'your' and 'you're' mixed up no matter how hard he tries.

Heidi claims Ed's "not crazy like me!", but we can say first hand that Ed certainly has a 'crazy side' to him. Not so much in his quirkiness, as what you see currently on Big Brother is what you get - but he's certainly not as 'normal' as some might think! Speak to any of Ed's mates they could tell you many wild stories of nights out with Ed. He's even managed to write his name alongside many of North Melbourne's greats when he was awarded the illustrious 'Best on Footy Trip' award during his time at the club. A feat not many can claim to hold!

The person you seen brighten up your screen at home is the genuine person we have the privilege of coming home to. We are all proud that Ed the person can be shared with the rest of Australia. Keep watching #BBAU and make sure you become a #team_ed fan!

NIGHT THREE - ED'S NEW BFF

NICK - Well looks like Tahan's knocked me off the perch- Ed's got a new BFF!

The speculation is about to begin on whether Ed and Tahan will be the 'new couple' in the house. The selection process of house partners in tonight's episode would have been reminiscent of Ed being the last kid picked in sports class (jj!) so he was just doing Tahan a favour.

Even though watching Ed awkwardly develop a relationship with Tahan would make great TV, I am sure our sister Milly would have his head on a chopping board upon exiting the house. Leading up to Big Brother Milly spent hours on Skype from Adelaide lecturing Ed on how he can't 'hook up' with any girls in the house.....and what do we know there is a love story brewing on night 2....I wonder if these firm words will be in the back of Ed's mind?

Despite the reasoning behind Ed stepping forward for Tahan, being locked away in a house with strangers for days on end would feel like a lifetime - so who knows what thoughts are beginning to creep into his mind!

Something that has been forgotten in all this is that Tahan is actually spoken for in the outside world...

WORKPLACE BULLYING

Hello to all! Shaun here to give you an insight into my work colleague and new found friend, the excitable Ed. 
Although I have not known Ed for very long, I'm the one that has to put up with him for hours on end day in day out... aren't I lucky!? 

Its Day 2, almost day 3, and Ed is just starting to be himself, he takes a little time to acclimatise and then its HAPPY HOUR! 
As I know Ed will be reading this when he is out (most likely in 3 months), I'd like to use this space to quickly vent.

Dear Ed, 
Finally! You're in the house and on your way to making many viewers smile. 
That was the longest secret I have ever had to keep... fancy making me lie to fellow co-workers, friends and family. I must admit, I kind of enjoyed the charade, and it was great to see you feel so guilty all the time. You really are too nice. Its kind of sickening. 
Anyway, I will be uploading some of our videos for all to see in due course, I hope you don't mind... in fact I'm sure you wont. Anyone who wears coloured shoelaces to work surely doesn't have any confidence issues. 
I hope Australia gets to see what I see everyday,(not just colourful laces), you deserve all the kudos you will receive.

NIGHT TWO - SETTLING IN

NICK - Back on June 13th, this is how I found out my little brother was going on Big Brother!

Today was one weird day! The day started with me doing an interview for a radio station in Hobart! Of course we only spoke about Ed... My new favourite topic! Seeing the boys at footy was odd. Everyone looked at me with dumbfounded faces, asking every question under the sun as if I knew more about the twist than they did. Ed's management firm look after a number of players at the club, all of who Ed told that he was off on a holiday to 'Europe' as his cover story. They all quizzed me and labelled me a liar for not spilling the beans! Although its day two in the Big Brother house it has been so weird to see how Ed interacts. I knew he'd lay low during the early days, I'm just hoping he strikes up some close friendships soon so his true personality comes out. Anyone that knows him would say he's serious when he has to be, but away from work and his sporting life he loves socialising more than anyone, he makes terrible jokes but manages to make everyone laugh (more so at him) and constantly cleans like no other! The coming days will be interesting, get on the #team_ed bandwagon! #BBAU

ANNIE - It's fair to say I did not do much work today! I spent a lot of time trawling the net....All I can tell you is the ladies love him... and so does Ben!

NIKKI - It seems that Ed is laying low in the house at the moment and taking a few days settle in, but I'm sure that once he does, he'll relax a little and soon enough will crack one of his ridiculously funny (and often lame) jokes, most of which he's picked up from the Queen of jokes, Annie!

MILLY - So Ed seems to be getting a fair bit of attention from Ben and the girls...! It has been so bizarre watching Ed on TV and I just hope he does well! On the show tonight Ed was pretty much mute so hopefully he will come out of his shell soon.. I can tell he is still settling in and figuring out who he gets on the best with. I think it will be better when the whole house is combined as I think Ed will get along with some of the HMs in the "have not" house really well. Wait and see! I wonder if Ed will figure out the sham marriage..... Also, there is another twist coming to do with identical twins and more intruders this week, so plenty more coming up for #team_ed! #BBAU

NIGHT ONE - THE FIRST SHOWDOWN

We've been waiting for this moment for a few weeks and it safe to say that it certainly wasn't a let down! Ed is officially in the Big Brother Australia house!

Despite his nerves and anticipation about what the big 'twist' might be, it seems Ed has already conjured up quite a following, especially on twitter. There are already a few comments that have the crowds laughing...

"Ed my man, you're a pretty pretty man"
"I want to see Ed in his pajamas" 
"I'll stay on whatever side Ed is on"
"Ed, hubba hubba"
and best of all...
"Ed has such amazing bone structure" (Nick agrees!)
